Before you use it
- OSHA 29 CFR 1910.252(a)(2)(iv) requires the area to be inspected by the person responsible for authorizing welding and cutting, who designates the precautions, preferably in a written permit.
- A fire watch is required where more than a minor fire might develop, for example when appreciable combustibles are closer than 35 feet, and it stays for at least half an hour after the work ends (1910.252(a)(2)(iii)).
- Combustible material on the floor is swept clean for a 35-foot radius (1910.252(a)(2)(v)). Add your site’s and your insurer’s own hot work rules.

In Vardian, readings are checked against their limits as they are entered, and photos and signatures attach to the check itself.
From the sheet to the round
Build a template as a Vardian form, and each line becomes a checkpoint that knows its limit.
Animation: a paper checklist line, compressor discharge pressure with a blank for the reading in bar, becomes a Vardian checkpoint with a limit of 7.0 to 8.5 bar. Scanning the compressor's NFC tag verifies the checkpoint, a reading of 9.1 bar is flagged out of range, and a work order is created from it.

We'll set it up in Vardian with your checkpoints and limits during a demo.
